We are a charitable organisation that seeks to reduce loneliness and isolation for older people. We do this by sourcing, packing and distributing gifts and information, free of charge to over 55s. We have a particular interest in helping older people who are cold in their homes. Key projects include: Warm in Winter gift bags containing essential keep warm items including a fleece blanket, thermal hat, gloves and socks, a mug, hot drinks, soup and porridge. The packs also include our Purple Pages information pack – carefully sources and researched leaflets that signpost older people to support, services and activities; Celebrate Christmas gift boxes – full of practical gifts for older people who are alone over the festive period.
We have a family of over 350 volunteers and work with over 90 partner organisations to reach those who need us the most.
Since we began our work seven years ago, we have reached over 60,000 vulnerable older people across Hertfordshire. In June 21 we were awarded the Queens Award for Voluntary Service with special recognition for our work during Covid-19.
